Shawn James has added the trip-log Sunshine, calm winds and crazy wildlife on Longbow Lake to his website's Algonquin Park content MySelfReliance.com. It was late last September that Shawn headed down the Tim River on a 3-day solo canoe trip to Longbow Lake . It's an enjoyable read .. along with photos and video.

"Just before dusk, I heard grunts and bellowing from some moose across the lake on the north side. They answered back when I called to them but never showed themselves on the shoreline. The sky was perfectly clear and the waxing moon was just a sliver and set beyond the trees to the west shortly after becoming visible, making for a dark night with lots of stars visible."

Brandon Peek has added a new trip-log to his website .. TourDuPark.com. It's of a mid-September 3-day trip he took out of Canoe Lake, with his friend Shane .. Tr 23: Thunder Lake, with a day-trip onward to West Harry Lake and a return loop through Panther and Ramona Lakes. The trip-log contains a detailed narration and plenty of great photos.

"We both looked through the bush, and less than 50 feet away was the largest Bull Moose either of us have ever seen – this thing belongs in Alaska or something. His antlers were simply massive, he had a huge arch in his back, and the blackest back & sides I`ve ever seen. He had a female with him. I knew we were in a bad spot, and we needed to get back to safety – but the bull was looking right at us, and I felt any sudden movements could spell disaster. "

Les Dempsey (aka 'Solo Lesta') has uploaded a video of "Day One" of his late September Canoe Lake 3-day Solo. In this, his first trip with his new kayak, he tested out how the kayak performed on the water, with his gear, and on the portage trails. On his first day he made his way up Canoe and Joe Lakes, where he found a pleasant rocky site, had a quick meal and turned in early. Be sure to check back later to catch balance of his video trip-log.

Scott Rogers has added the trip-log of his 6-night trip down the Bonnechere River, to his website .. www.SmedleyCo.com. Travelling with Mark Scarlett, Markus Rubino and David Lee .. his trip-log May 8 - 14, 2014 Bonnechere River is a tremendous read, with a great narration, plus lots of super photos and videos.

"Some people will say that this is not a trip that we should have taken, primarily because parts of it were no longer an official canoe route. I think we all struggled with that issue, but ultimately decided that it was something we had to do and that we had the knowledge to do properly."

"Around one of the earlier corners we saw him – a great, big male moose! He was on the right bank of the river, eating his fill of plants. He immediately started to cross to the left side of the river. Just before the bank, he stopped and looked at us, almost to say “do I really need to move for these guys?” He did move, he climbed up on the bank and disappeared in the woods."

"Neelands" has made an addition to his Smugmug Canoe Trips Galleries. It's a photo trip-log of his 2015 June 20-25 White Trout Loop .. a five night solo canoe trip including stays on McIntosh, White Trout, Big Trout, Big Otterslide, and Burnt Island Lakes. The trip-log includes 45 well-captioned photos, which can also be viewed as a slideshow.

"By the way, just as you enter Big Trout Lake beware of the seagulls. They have a nest on a rocky island there, and will attack you if you get too close. Luckily I received fair warning, which landed in the water 20 feet in front of the canoe! Three days later I got another scare on Joe Lake east of the big island. Beware seagulls at the end of June!"
