Mike Burns has sent in a trip-log of his "part solo" Lake Louisa Trip that he took late this August. It has 71 great photos .. a bit of a download!

"... the wind was so bad I decided to stay put for safety sake. I got out of my hammock when the rain lightened and untied my gear and got my rain suit on. I took some pictures of the water. Wow, what a sight. The rolling white caps were bad. The mist/fog was lifting from the water and blowing almost horizontal with the wind. The fog almost looks like blowing snow in the winter."

Norma Stewart has submitted a trip-log of A Newbie Algonquin Adventure that she and her husband John took this August, from Rock Lake through Pen Lake to Welcome Lake and back.

"For dessert we took our tea to the outcrop rock to toast the sunset and the end of a challenging and thoroughly enjoyable day. The lake water at the base of the rock was too tantalizing for me to resist, so I slipped off my shoes and lay splashing my feet in the water. That's when we found the leeches - two of them hooked onto a foot each! There is nothing more gross than leeches locked on to your body."

Tom Yates has submitted a trip-log of his 2004 voyage down the Oxtongue River from Whiskey Rapids, out of the park to Algonquin Outfitters on Oxtongue Lake ... The Yates Group - Algonquin Trip August 2004 .

"When we arrived at the campsite we were greeted with one of the best sites we have ever been on! The Algonquin Gods were evening things out! This site was huge, with enough space for a scout troop full of tents and it is perched right on top of spectacular High Falls. We wished we would have come straight here and stayed two nights!"

Tom Yates has submitted his trip-log of a 7-day trip, he and seven others earlier this month .. starting out by the Opeongo Lake water taxi and then canoeing via Big Crow, Lavieille and Dickson Lakes loop ... The Yates Group - Algonquin Trip August 2009 (Opeongo - Big Crow - Lavieille - Dickson - Opeongo) .

".. we went to the site on the south point. What a great campsite! It had plenty of roaming space with good tent sites, rock porches on the east side to face Lavieille and the west side facing Crow Bay. And, it had a great fire pit area with a shelf. The view of Lavieille to the east was spectacular."

Rory Leidecker has sent in his trip-log of a 4-day trip, he took in August of 2007, with his cousin Brent .. out of Rain Lake, to Casey Lake, Daisy Lake, Misty Lake and back via Sawyer Lake. August 2007 - Access Point 4 - Casey Lake, Misty Lake, Sawyer Lake .

"A bull moose was browsing in the shallow bay near our campsite! I have been really close (almost too close) to cow moose several times, but before this day the best bull sighting I had was from about 500 meters. 50 meters is so much cooler! He continued to do his thing, and we eventually returned to the fire pit."

Joe Zaleski has submitted his trip-log of a 5-day, he took in mid-May of 2007 with his buddy Jon .. north from Opeongo to Burntroot Lake and back. Its a very well written and illustrated account .. Burntroot Triplog 2007 .

"That evening our luck turned as we either found the right spot or the fish finally gave up on their three day fast and we landed a half dozen specks in a ninety minute time span. I had the enviable position of catching the two largest ones, a 23" 3.25 pound beauty and a 19" 2 pounder but Jon also managed to haul in a couple respectable 17" specs."

Jeremy Lindsay has submitted his trip-log of a 3-day, one-way trip he took from Smoke Lake to Kawagama Lake, through some very rough portages ... Smoke Lake to Kawagama Lake .

"There was enough room for a 4x4 tent on an upper level fully open to both easterly and westerly winds. The tent pad is conveniently located beneath some 2 widowmakers. There is a thunderbox on the site which is a nice touch of a non-maintained site. There was also a bench on which one could sit and talk to the t-box user as the bench was about a foot from the fire pit and the thunderbox a foot further away. The site was as close to a jail cell as you’ll find in the woods .. "

Russ Sturgess has compiled a 'blog-triplog' of an 8-day trip he took out of the Mag with his son Matt .. a large loop via .. Ralph Bice - Tim River - Big Trout - McIntosh - Misty - Petawawa River and Daisy Lake ... Algonquin Park Canoe Trip - June 20-27 2009 .

"Matt was farther down the hill. I called out for him to duck down and get behind me. We walked farther up the hill using the slight cover of the small bunch scrub trees. We finally got out in the open so Matt could see the bear. This was his 1st bear in the wild and my second. Wasn’t long before the bear spotted us, stood up on his hind legs for a better view then high tailed it too the woods."
