I originally established a small Algonquin Park component of my personal web site back in late 1996. By mid 1997, it had taken over the site and soon acquired its name "Algonquin Adventures". At the same time. I was moderating Bell-Sympatico's Outdoor Adventures Forums.

By the fall of 2000, the website's growing content determined that my residential ISP account storage was inadequate. That, the registration of the domain name "AlgonquinAdventures.com", and the conversion of content into a "frames" environment, meant that a conventional hosting service had to be acquired.

The AlgonquinAdventures.com website is operated as a public-service not-for-profit self-funding personal endeavor ... an online community and information-sharing resource for Algonquin Park do-it-yourself campers, canoeists, hikers and naturalists.
