Algonquin Adventures originally came online as a small Algonquin component of my personal web site back in late 1996. By mid 1997, it had taken over the site and acquired its name "Algonquin Adventures". With my residential ISP account having a 5 meg file storage limit, the site's growing photographic image file content necessitated getting additional file storage from elsewhere.

Over time, the site's most popular components have come to be its message board, trip-log inventory, slideshows and emailed inquiry responses.

By the fall of 2000, I had determined that changes were timely. The registration of the domain name "algonquinadventures.com", and the conversion of content into a "frames" environment, meant that a commercial hosting service would be required. In an effort to underwrite the additional expense of this, I offer non-animated low key advertising links in the site's menu frame areas.

This newly designed site should be viewed on a monitor with at least an 800 x 600 display setting. Best results are obtained with a 1024 x 768 display setting. The site's large photo content benefits from as high a colour setting as possible. And a reminder to users of MSIE, toggle your keyboard's F11 key to maximize the browser's viewing area.

As always .. viewer message postings, submissions and inquiries are encouraged.
