AlgonquinAdventures.com - Photo Contest Submission Guidelines Effective April/May 2007

Submissions are received on the basis of 1 per person per contest. So pick your best. A submission must be made by email to canoe@algonquinadventures.com in the form of either an attached JPG file or an URL to the location where your JPG file is available online. A submission should be at least 640x480 pixels in size.

An informative passage of at least 50 words must accompany each submission, describing the context within which each photo was taken (where, when, who, how, etc.).

Submissions have to be taken (at any time) within the geographic boundaries of Algonquin Park and must have been taken by the person making the submission. While "darkroom-type" computer cropping, levelling and exposure adjustments are perfectly legitimate; deceptive computer techniques such as copy-pasting, stretching and montages aren't acceptable.

Full photo credit will be shown to the submitter. Copyright remains with the submitter/photographer.

The photo submission period for the April/May contest ends at 9 pm of May 31st. Results will be announced by June 15th.

The selection of the winners (1st, 2nd and 3rd places) of this April / May contest, will be done by Barry Bridgeford (both the operator of the Algonquin Adventures website and a professionally trained photographer). Judging will be based both on technical and aesthetic qualities. Results will be announced at the end of the contest period. Please see below for actual prizes!

Also, effective April, 2007, the opportunities to win will be spread-out by "sitting-out" 1st place winners from competing during the balance of that particular "off-season's" contests. This will give other photographers a chance to win. Past winning photos in this "off-season" were taken by ... Darren Dare and Tom Bennett
