Campsite

Regular or low-maintenance: Regular

Size of open ground area: 10 8 meters.

Extent of tree cover: 90%.

Degree of levelness: Level.

Number of tent sites: 2 sites for placement of tents. The smaller site could accommodate a 3 person tent, the larger site to the east of the firepit could hold 3 - 4 tents.

North exposure: Trees.

East exposure: Trees, limited view of grasslands next to site.

South exposure: Beach.

West exposure: Trees.

General description: A long, beautiful sandy beach fronts a good sized site in an old growth forest that could accomodate a number of tents. Good levelness, but the back of the site, because of runoff, is prone to flooding in the spring time (thunderbox was unuseable, at this time, due to standing water).

Overall accessibility: Very accessible from the beach landing. Or a 50m carry from the portage to the Amable du Fond River. Tent pad on west side of site has downed tree that must be stepped over.

- View from path to thunderbox, large tent area is just to left of firepit.

- View of small tent pad from thunderbox path.

- Firepit and view of beach.

- Early spring runoff made things a little wet.

- Campsite sketch.
